Motivate Yourself with Amazing People

Say hi to Cassey Ho (lower right) and Kayla Itsines (upper left). They are one of many of my inspirations, specifically in fitness and health. I don’t know what I was searching or thinking at the time when I stumbled on one of Cassey’s videos on youtube. I think it was about 3 or 4 years ago when I started following Cassey’s blog and all her social media accounts. Unfortunately, I was never able to stick with her workouts for more than 2 weeks, at most. I was also in swimming at that time, which I thought “swimming is a workout. . . this will be good (for now).” But, what happens next when you stop swimming and graduate from high school, I became a couch potato eating potato…chips! What a terrible consequence eh?! Finally, I got up! put the chips down and just started! I didn’t care if it wasn’t Monday or in the morning, or at night, I just did it! I started Cassey’s Beginners 2.0 Calendar which consists of 2 videos per day…

The stars indicate that, of course, I finished them! It was hard at that time but I remember feeling great every time I place a star on each day. What’s great about this calendar is it doesn’t tell you when to start you just do it! I pushed myself to do it for 21 days because of the saying “It takes 21 days to get rid of a hobby. It also takes 21 days to get used to a new one.” After 21 days, I just got addicted. I know it was just some self-fulfilling prophecy but it worked! and that’s all that matters. Then I continued on and did more workout videos! I was able to do 3 months of pilates with Cassey and I couldn’t be more thankful for the push and the motivation. Even though, she was miles away from her I felt like I know her already… I know how she wanted to dress up as the disney princesses on halloween and how much her neighbors creepy decorations scares the crap out of her. I just know her already. I thank God for showing me her.

Now, Kayla Itsines was introduced to me by a great friend of mine, Ivielle. She showed me her instagram account and I just fell in love in all of her inspirational posts, the before and afters, the healthy food, and her guides. I started doing her guides and man they are TOUGH! I have never felt so exhausted in doing such workouts in my life! I sweat A TON when I do her workouts. I think I have kayla-phobia!

I just finished Week 4 Arms and Abs of her BBG and my hands are literally still shaking as I am typing at the moment. That is how much she pushes me to the limit and I couldn’t ask for more (literally).

So why am I doing this? Just to thank them. That’s all. I think I am finally knowing who I am what I am becoming. It’s amazing how much my goals have changed over the years. They taught me that the goal is not to become sexy, or skinny, or have inner-thigh gaps but to be STRONG and YOU. :)
